Accounting graduates have been at least 50% female for 20 years and the percent of AICPA staff that are female is currently around 60%. Despite the existence of extremely qualified and competent women in the profession, the number of women in senior management is slightly less than 40% and the number of women partners is only slightly higher than 20%. Talent acquisition/retention and succession planning are the top two concerns of firms of all sizes.
