LBMC, PC, one of the Southeast’s premier accounting and business consulting firms, is pleased to announce it received the inaugural Winner’s Circle Award for Best Places for Millennials to Work. The award was presented at The Advisory Board Winning is Everything 2017 conference in Las Vegas on Jan. 20, 2017.

The Advisory Board, a partnership of industry consultants who serve as a think tank to a variety of professional disciplines, developed the Winner’s Circle Awards to recognize exceptional practice management and cutting edge talent management in the accounting industry. The Advisory Board members reviewed the applications, and consideration was given to how each firm executed their initiative and the results on the firm. Awards were given to the firms that most clearly displayed tangible results based on their initiatives designed to foster millennials.

The Best Places for Millennials to Work Award is one of four Winner’s Circle Awards categories presented during this year’s event. Winner’s Circle Awards were also given for Diversity & Inclusion, Women in Leadership, and Technology.

In addition to the awards ceremony, winners also participated in a panel discussion to explore how their firms conceived, crafted and executed their initiatives and the effect the results had on their firm. Jeff Drummonds, CEO and Managing Director, credits LBMC’s purposeful initiative to develop future leaders for the firm as a key differentiator. “We made a conscious decision as we were going through a rebranding process in 2015…that everything we did was going to tie back to LBMC as the right place for high-performing CPAs and consultants.” Drummonds explained how his firm is empowering its young employees through the creation and support of several initiatives focused on developing future leaders, including:

  • Young Professionals (YP) Group
  • Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) Group
  • Campus Recruiting
  • Mentor Program
  • LBMC University

These programs have paid off quickly for LBMC. The firm has already promoted three millennials to shareholder positions, and several others are on track to achieve that position.

“Winning this award reinforces our belief that putting a focused effort on developing future leaders is the right thing to do. We’re thrilled to be recognized for our efforts to develop a unique collaborative culture with a focus on coaching and training programs committed to developing college graduates as future leaders in the company,” said Drummonds.

LBMC has earned other notable local and national recognition as a top workplace for young professionals, including 25 Best Places for Work for Recent Grads Award by Symplicity, the leading provider of career services management solutions; multi-year Tennessean Top Workplace awards; and Best Accounting Firms to Work For by Accounting Today.
