LBMC, one of the Southeast’s largest accounting and business consulting firms, today announced an executive leadership appointment underscoring the firm’s commitment to learning as a strategic advantage in the development of an expanding solutions-oriented workforce. To achieve this, the company, which recently surpassed 500 total employees, has named veteran learning and development leader John Dunavan to a newly expanded role as Director of Learning & Development, preceding the impending retirement of David Haddock, after a thirty-year career as CPA and college educator.
“LBMC recognizes the strategic value of learning in the development of young professionals and emerging leaders as we focus on an expanding suite of products and services to meet our client’s evolving needs across our Family of Companies,” said Jeff Drummonds, managing partner of LBMC. “John’s role is to help us maintain a strategic focus on learning, and bring in lessons learned from other industries that will expedite our development goals, and ultimately increase customer satisfaction.”
As the Director of Learning & Development, Dunavan will design, produce and coordinate the delivery of a range of knowledge solutions for internal and external audiences. Dunavan has dedicated nearly twenty years helping a range of organizations and audiences with their strategic learning challenges, including aerospace, automotive, communication, defense, education, entertainment, finance, food service, government services, healthcare, insurance, intelligence (civilian and defense), law enforcement, real estate services, retail, social services, technology, and transportation. Dunavan will work across the LBMC family of companies and audiences to build the knowledge transfer tools and techniques necessary to engage and prepare today’s employees and customers for the next generation of challenges.
