LBMC's Growth and Strategic Initiatives Leads to Promotions in Key Leadership Roles


Nashville, Tenn. – (July 26, 2016) – LBMC, one of the Southeast’s largest accounting and business consulting firms and a top 50 firm in the nation, today announced executive leadership appointments to help accommodate vast company growth in the areas of tax, audit, information security and staffing.  The company, which recently surpassed 500 total employees, has named four key employees as new leaders in the LBMC PC arm of the firm; Healthcare Services Audit expert Brad Bonde, Tax Wealth Management Specialist Brianna Mullenax and LBMC Tax Outsourcing experts Brett Kennedy and Justin Follis were recently named LBMC Shareholders.  In addition, LBMC Information Security named Managed Security Practice Leader, Jason Riddle to Partner, while LBMC Staffing Solutions named Financial Recruiting specialist, Britt Cumbie to Director of Contract Accounting Services.

Healthcare Services Assurance

Bonde specializes in private equity and venture capital-backed healthcare entities.  He has over eleven years of experience, including time spent with a Big Four firm, GE Healthcare, and a national public accounting firm. Bonde also serves as a technical review expert for the Firm’s audit department and frequently assists clients with buy-side and sell-side due diligence procedures and quality of earnings analysis. . He also serves as a speaker for numerous organizations covering accounting and auditing issues, and has authored or been cited in several articles related to accounting issues impacting healthcare entities and the broader profession. 

Briana Mullenax, Shareholder
Tax Wealth Management

Mullenax has over thirteen years of experience in all areas of tax compliance and consulting services, but focuses the majority of her time working with high-wealth individuals and families and their related entities. Mullenax is an NBJ top 40 under 40 award recipient and served as the Nashville Chapter President for the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). Briana participates heavily in LBMC firm initiatives such as software/technology committee, WIN retreat committee chair and   lends her expertise to numerous organizations reviewing topics such as year-end tax planning and individual tax updates.

Kennedy has more than thirteen years of public accounting experience providing tax services. He serves a variety of industries including traditional healthcare, healthcare technology (SaaS), venture capital, and professional service organizations. His experience includes income tax accounting under ASC 740, federal and state tax compliance for corporations and partnerships, buy-side tax due diligence for middle market private equity firms, and partnership tax consulting/modeling. Prior to joining LBMC, Kennedy was a senior manager in Ernst & Young LLP’s Business Tax Services group and served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.

Justin W. Follis, Shareholder
Tax Outsourcing

Having more than thirteen years of experience in taxation, Follis has diverse experience consulting multi-national corporations and partnerships in the areas of tax compliance, ASC 740 accounting, and tax transactional structuring. He brings to LBMC the experience of his prior role with Deloitte’s National Federal Tax Services, Partnership Solutions Group, where he consulted corporate joint ventures, publicly traded partnerships, and financial services clients on partnership transaction and compliance matters. As a Shareholder in the Tax Outsourcing Group, Follis serves clients ranging from global private equity groups, and private equity backed portfolio companies, to publicly traded corporations in industries such as financial services, healthcare, and manufacturing and distribution.

Jason Riddle, Partner

Riddle, is an information systems security expert with broad technology expertise and experience with a variety of industries including healthcare, financial services, and retail. Jason has over fifteen years’ experience in the information technology and security fields. He previously served as Practice Leader for LBMC Managed Security Services LLC, a leading provider of network and enterprise security monitoring and response services.

From ransomware to advanced social engineering tactics, malicious attacks are at an all-time high and Jason’s expertise has been instrumental in helping clients continuously protect their networks -housing their sensitive data and systems in today’s constantly changing threat environment. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Submarine Force.

Britt Cumbie – Director of Contract Accounting Services
LBMC Staffing Solutions, LLC

Cumbie, a licensed CPA, has been recruiting financial and accounting professionals for LBMC Staffing Solutions for more than 10 years.  He serves a broad client base that includes many of the most successful companies in Nashville.  In his new role, Britt will be responsible for leading and growing our Brentwood accounting and financial contract services division.  Britt is active in and supports many professional and civic organizations, including Nashville Health Care Council, Financial Executives International and Financial Executives Networking Group.
