TENN. (March, 2012) – LBMC is proud to announce the recent addition of two top professionals to its Security Services team. Mark Burnette recently joined as a Director in this division and Craig Zimberg as a Senior Manager. Both Burnette and Zimberg are recognized by the Information Systems Security Association’s (ISSA) Fellow Program as performing in the top 5% of the information security profession. With the additions, LBMC becomes the only professional services organization in the State of Tennessee to employ even one ISSA Fellow, now having two as a part of its Security Services leadership team. “I viewed firsthand the successful information security programs that both Mark and Craig built at their respective organizations, and we are very excited to be able to add two individuals with their track records of success and their demonstrated leadership in the profession,” said Thomas Lewis, Partner and Leader of LBMC’s Security Services offerings.

Mark Burnette has more than 16 years of experience in information security and risk management, including key leadership roles with two of the Big 4 accounting firms, and nearly nine years as the Chief Information Security Officer for two publicly traded companies. A few of his many certifications include Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Prior to joining LBMC, Burnette was president of security consulting firm MainNerve, Inc., where he received the 2010 Nashville Emerging Leader Award in Technology. In 2005, Burnette was chosen as the Information Security Executive of the Year, and in 2008 he was named one of the top seven security leaders by Information Security Magazine. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Carson-Newman College and a master of accountancy degree from the University of Tennessee. In addition to his role with LBMC, Burnette is an adjunct professor of accounting at Belmont University where he also serves on the school’s Accounting Advisory Board. Mark is recognized as an IT security expert, having been featured on ABC and CBS television affiliates, in numerous print media outlets, and is a noted author and frequent speaker to various organizations.

Craig Zimberg brings over 12 years of information security and internal audit experience to the LBMC team. Six years of his experience working with a Big 4 Accounting firm and most recently served six years as Executive Director of Corporate Security for BMI.. His certifications include Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Craig was named the Chief Information Security Officer of the Year by the Nashville Technology Council in October of 2011, and recently finished a term as President of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the ISSA. He is a graduate of Rutgers University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and earned his MBA at Auburn University.
