HITECH Roadmap for Hospitals
HITECH Initiatives for Hospitals
Implementing the right EHR solution for your facility involves far more than just buying software. Successful EHR programs require assessing, planning, budgeting, financing, product evaluation, acquisition, workflow modification, and implementation. At the same time, it is critical to comply with all relevant regulatory requirements. How well does a solution integrate with the hospital and staff? Is your usage level adequate to be in compliance with targeted goals? Should you utilize an on-premise or a hosted model? There are many implications that you should consider.
The LBMC HITECH Roadmap service provides a comprehensive, high level game plan for healthcare organizations to help you get the project started on the right track from day one. We also offer additional consulting options for every phase of your EHR project.
HITECH Orientation
The first step is education for your executive management team, relevant clinical staff, and technology leadership. This comprehensive orientation begins with an in-depth preparation to ensure that the details of the HITECH program are
understood including the funding specifics for your facility. We provide leadership preparation for establishing project governance, identifying critical team members, and establishing a vision and goals for all phases of your HITECH project. This orientation includes reviewing the criteria for achieving inter-operability, workflow integration, and meaningful use.
HITECH Readiness Analytics
This phase correlates to the HITECH requirements of your particular facility by gathering specifics concerning your current level of HITECH readiness. The goal is to clearly establish where you are now in preparation for developing your detailed HITECH plan. We conduct an inventory of your current technology to help identify upgrade options for HITECH and interoperability. We also provide surveys to help determine the availability of resources with the right HITECH skill sets , identify current workflow processes for affected areas, and inventory any existing meaningful use components.
Roadmap Deliverables
Our deliverables include a Preliminary Gap Analysis to identify specific “gaps” based upon the data derived from the technology, meaningful use and workflow analytics. We also provide a Preliminary Budget Analysis to outline the timing and amount of stimulus funds, expenditures that would likely be required, as well as financing options that might be available. We provide financial and compliance guidelines for staying on track throughout the phased implementation lifecycle. Finally, we provide a high level Roadmap Plan to identify the key milestones and timing for a successful and compliant HITECH implementation.
