HITECH Initiatives for Physicians and Other Eligible Providers
Implementing the appropriate EMR solution for your practice involves far more than just buying software. A successful EMR implementation requires CCHIT compliant software integrated with your practice management processes and implemented in a productive workflow that works for your providers. The wrong decision can impact your quality of care, cause unnecessary headaches for your organization, and possibly result in not receiving your HITECH funding.

The LBMC HITECH Roadmap service provides a comprehensive plan to get your practice started on the right track from day one. Beyond the HITECH Roadmap, we provide ongoing professional services for your EMR implementation and ongoing compliance.

HITECH Orientation
The first step is HITECH orientation for your providers, relevant staff, and technology leadership. We outline the need to define a specification based on type of practice, practice workflow, and integration compatibility. We also provide a HITECH Roadmap for Physicians and Other Eligible Providerscomprehensive overview of the available vendor offerings and the unique features of each EMR system. The EMR Integration and Workflow session provides a comprehensive overview of how to define a workflow that works for your providers and also addresses issues such as: ASP versus in-house systems , data entry versus Dragon speech, and integration with your current billing system . Finally, we address the need for budgeting costs of you EMR phases and the options for financing.

HITECH Readiness Analytics
This phase correlates to the HITECH requirements to your particular facility by gathering specifics concerning your current level of HITECH readiness. The goal is to clearly establish where you are now in preparation for developing your detailed HITECH plan. We conduct an inventory of your current technology to help identify upgrade options for HITECH and interoperability. We also provide surveys to help determine the availability of resources with the right HITECH skill sets , identify current workflow processes for affected areas, and inventory any existing meaningful use components.

Roadmap Deliverables
Our deliverables include a Preliminary Gap Analysis to identify specific “gaps” based upon the data derived from the technology, meaningful use and workflow analytics. We also provide a Preliminary Budget Analysis to outline the timing and amount of stimulus funds, expenditures that would likely be required, as well as financing options that might be available. We provide financial and compliance guidelines for staying on track throughout the phased implementation lifecycle. Finally, we provide a high level Roadmap Plan to identify the key milestones and timing for a successful and compliant HITECH implementation.
