With the wave of highly publicized cyberattacks on healthcare, the challenges of data security and compliance have only multiplied. As a healthcare business leader, you may be primarily focused on HIPAA compliance, and while important, being compliant doesn’t necessarily mean your organization is properly or effectively managing its cybersecurity risks. Cyber criminals are constantly looking to find new ways to infiltrate healthcare companies, so don’t let HIPAA compliance give you a false sense of security.

The most common threat comes from employees inside your organization - most often through a phishing email. These social engineering attacks take advantage of a trusting or helpful employee who provides secure information or clicks on a malicious link. As phishing emails have evolved and become harder to recognize, more organizations have fallen victim to them.
