Name: Diane Baker
Title: Receptionist/Administrative Assistant
Been with LBMC EP: Since December 2014

Born and raised in the beautiful State of Michigan, Diane Baker has since lived in a lot of different places before landing in her current home of Nashville, Tennessee. For almost a year, Diane had the unique opportunity to serve as a nanny for a missionary family in Costa Rica. In 1982, her journey led her to Nashville, where she accepted an administrative assistant role for the Navigators, a parachurch ministry organization that helps people grow in their faith. After almost three years with the Navigators, the company reorganized its districts, which moved Diane’s boss to Florida. With her roots now established in Nashville, Diane didn’t want to move, so she took on a new role with an apartment business for about 15 years in the city’s Bellevue suburb. Diane later served with Nashville’s Christ Presbyterian Church for 12 years. After leaving her position at Christ Presbyterian Church, a church small group friend who worked at LBMC gave her resume to the company’s staffing division. “LBMC called me, and as I was interviewing with another company, they informed me of a new opportunity that came up, which ended up being my current role with LBMC Employment Partners,” explains Diane.

Current Role:

In her role as a receptionist and administrative assistant for LBMC EP, Diane is the first face you’ll typically see upon visiting the LBMC EP headquarters office. Diane’s responsibilities include greeting guests, answering phones, and assisting with various needs for LBMC EP individuals and teams. “In addition to my key responsibilities, I also assist with scanning payrolls and other important tasks when needed,” says Diane. Serving on a team of three other coworkers, Diane finds joy in working with others and creating a welcoming environment. “My favorite part of my job is talking to people, visiting with clients as they enter the office, and making people feel welcome,” affirms Diane.

Why LBMC EP Stands Out:

When it comes to what makes LBMC EP stand out from other companies where she has worked, Diane appreciates the positive and personal work-life balance that is encouraged from the company leadership. “Words can’t express how I admire our leadership at LBMC EP. Our Partners, Sharon Powlus and Ron Perry, do such a great job at keeping us motivated and happy in our roles,” says Diane. Additionally, Diane praises the great team of people she works alongside, as well as the company culture. “At LBMC EP, you’ll find that colleagues are more supportive of each other than at most other corporate office settings. I’ve made friends here, and my colleagues are people of integrity. Ron and Sharon really set the pace on that,” affirms Diane. All in all, Diane is honored to serve with a staff of people who truly strive to serve clients as best as they can. She explains, “For LBMC EP employees, it’s not just a ‘job.’ It’s just fun overall.”

Outside the office, Diane is actively involved at Christ Presbyterian Church and has previously served on its missions advisory team. Something Diane is greatly passionate about is working with Fostering Hope, which offers support for foster parent families and disadvantaged children. Diane lives in the Bellevue community of West Nashville, and she enjoys that it still has a smaller, close-knit feel, especially with all the growth and expansion that has happened in Nashville in recent years.
