Employee Spotlight: Mark Perez

Mark Perez was born in Columbia, Tennessee, a city steeped in rich southern history. Columbia is known for many things; the last standing ancestral home of James K. Polk, the 11th President of the United States; Home of Mule Days, a celebration of all thing related to mules; and the location for the 2009 filming of Hannah Montana: The Movie.

Mark attended Belmont University where he obtained his master’s degree in Business. Mark joined the LBMC Technology Solutions team as a consultant in October of 2003. When Mark isn’t helping clients with their software implementations, he can often be found reading, boating, running or helping his kids with their homework. He is also heavily involved in charity work for Hands on Nashville, an organization whose mission is to meet community needs through volunteerism.

Who inspires you?

My grandfather, great man from Havana, Cuba, took a huge risk and moved his family to the United States due to the economic unrest caused by Fidel Castro’s communist takeover.

What’s the last book you read?

The Cuban Affair, by Nelson DeMile. This book is about a veteran who served in Afghanistan. Cuban-Americans hire him to covertly land in Cuba and retrieve a cache of documents and funds. It’s a really great read.

Which four individuals, living or dead, would you like to eat dinner with the most?

My friend Jane, my kids, and Ronald Reagan.
