Top 7 Most Notable Feature Updates for Dynamics 365

Many of our customers are using these valuable Dynamics 365 applications, therefore, LBMC Technology Solutions’ consulting staff created a list of the top seven most notable feature updates to share with you:

1. Dynamics 365 for Sales: Business Card Scan

To save time from manually entering contacts, the new business card scan feature gives professionals the ability to use their phone to capture an image of a business card and create a new record directly in the Dynamics 365 Mobile or Web Apps. Note: This feature is only available in the Unified Interface.

2. Dynamics 365 for Sales: Simplified Lead Management Experience

To help customers maximize productivity, Microsoft introduced new features related to lead management that will enable sales reps to qualify leads and quickly move it to the next stage of the sales cycle. Our favorite is the new options for qualifying a lead. When entering/qualifying a new lead, a prompt will be displayed that allows the user to convert the lead to either an account, a contact or an opportunity or any combination of those records.

3. Dynamics 365 Sales: LinkedIn Sales Navigator Integration Enhancements

To empower sales professionals to drive more personalized and meaningful engagements with buyers, the Microsoft Relationship Sales solution brings together LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Dynamics 365 Sales by enabling sales reps to compose and send InMail from within Dynamics 365 Sales entities. In addition, profile pictures from LinkedIn will now be available within Dynamics 365 Sales to help sellers more easily identify contacts.

Microsoft will continue to expand on these capabilities adding these features scheduled to be available in November 2019:

  • View the LinkedIn Contact Profile from within D365
  • Send InMails from within D365
  • InMails will display in the D365 CE Activity timeline
  • Sync LinkedIn Profile Photos to D365 CE and set them as the Contact record picture.
  • Validate data for Contacts – When someone changes jobs or role, D365 CE could be updated directly.

4. Dynamics 365 Sales: Enhance the Adding or Editing Opportunity/Quote/Order/Invoice Products Experience

One of the more time-consuming tasks in Dynamics 365 Sales (adding products) just got a lot easier.  Enhancements to this feature helps improve searching and filtering experiences by allowing sales people to select a product on any line item, increasing productivity and eliminating context switching. In addition, depending on the option selected by the Dynamics 365 CE Administrator, salespeople will soon be able to add multiple products/line items at once and add those products with or without a price list.

5. Dynamics 365 Sales: Customization of Opportunities Close Dialog Box

A popular request by many D365 users, Microsoft has now added the ability to modify the Opportunity Close Dialog Won and Lost Dialog boxes that prompt users when closing deals. D365 CE Admins will now be able to tailor this dialog by choosing between the standard experience or the new custom form experience.

6. Dynamics 365 Sales: Microsoft Teams Integration Enhancements

New enhancements help to connect Dynamics 365 records to Teams channels without leaving the Dynamics 365 app – Create a Teams Channel from the D365 CE record page, file sharing across Teams and D365 CE, member recommendations presented in Teams based on D365 record ownership and more!

7. Guided Support Scripts for Service Agents – Available January 2020

Designed to help combat churn in people and processes, D365 CE Administrators will soon have the ability to create & configure scripts meant to provide a support representative with step-step guidance as they assist a customer on a support case.
