Brian Strahle is Sales Tax Practice Leader of the State & Local Tax Services division at LBMC. He specializes in helping middle-market and Fortune 1000 companies mitigate state tax risk, defend positions and improve cash flow.

During his career, he has worked in a variety of environments and industries, with both large and small companies. His experience includes income tax, gross receipts tax, sales and use tax, and franchise tax in almost every state.

Brian’s clients have included large C corporation affiliated groups, S corporations, limited liability companies, single-member limited liability companies, Q-subs, and partnerships. He has helped companies determine their multistate tax nexus position, the sales taxability of what they are selling and purchasing, utilize exemptions and credits or incentives, and implement sales tax compliance software. He has also helped companies file Voluntary Disclosure Agreements to mitigate prior year tax exposure and defend positions under audit. 

His clients have been in different industries such as manufacturing, professional services (including technical, financial, advertising, legal, etc.) retail, technology (including software-as-a-service), real estate development and construction, transportation, auto dealerships, etc. Prior to joining LBMC, PC, Brian operated his own state tax consulting, research and writing firm, LEVERAGE SALT, LLC for five years.

Brian is an Enrolled Agent and a Graduate Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute. He holds a Masters of Science in Taxation from the Washington School of Law, and a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Millikin University.
