Matt Wallace is a Director in LBMC’s Health Care Consulting Services. Matt has 20+ years of experience in healthcare and consulting leading high-performing teams of experienced healthcare revenue cycle members to solve complex client problems of large acute care medical centers, ambulatory multi-specialty medical groups, and surgery centers.
Over his career, Matt has led the project management office (PMO) for implementation and optimization support services of various EMR platforms and provided subject matter expertise on specific revenue cycle workflows. In addition, he has served in various interim roles with clients including the director of hospital billing, and overseen multiple quality assurance audits.
Matt’s representative engagements include:
- Lead revenue cycle operations due diligence projects for clinic and surgery center purchases for private equity groups. Due diligence includes a review of revenue cycle operations, account receivable valuations, claims generation, and cash flow analysis.
- Oversaw teams performing revenue cycle integration services of acute care and outpatient providers partnering with our clients who are purchasing and consolidating these practices and systems. Focus on revenue cycle operations integration, finance, EMR, supply chain, provider credentialing, and enrollment.
- Led the revenue cycle implementation team of a 1-billion-dollar Epic EMR system at a 1000-bed urban academic medical center as well 6 community hospitals across a large geographic, multi-state region.
- Served as Interim Billing Director at a 600-bed urban academic medical center. Increased profit over 11 months by improving cash collection, decreasing account receivables, and streamlining the management of all vendors.
- Led clinical operations due diligence audit of multiple systems purchases (buy and sell) of acute care facilities. Audits include the review of key financial indicators, cash flow analysis, provider economics, inventory and asset classification, payor plan, and contracting.
