In honor of National Women in Business month, we celebrate the achievements of all women who are breaking barriers and setting high standards for themselves and others.

Women represent some of the highest caliber executive leadership talent within the technology industry. They drive change, innovate, and inspire others to succeed while contributing to business growth. Women in the technology industry also face unique challenges.

At LBMC, we are celebrating the accomplishments, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment that Stacy Schuettler, President of LBMC Technology Solutions brings to our company. This week we sat down with Stacy and asked her to share a bit of her journey and to provide insight and advice for women pursuing their dreams in the technology industry.

Question & Answers with Stacy Schuettler, President LBMC Technology Solutions

  1. Could you tell me about your current role here at LBMC Technology Solutions?
My primary role as President of LBMC Technology Solutions is to ensure that we are continually offering current and relevant technology solutions and services to our clients. Technology is changing at an ever-increasing pace.  Now more than ever, it is our responsibility to be proactive in educating our clients and prospects on technologies that can help them achieve their business goals. This rapid pace of change combined with a multi-generational workforce and non-traditional work models can be quite challenging for a business to navigate. We’ve built our company around the goal of establishing long-term partnerships designed to help our clients’ businesses grow and evolve. I’m totally committed to making sure we do just that.
  2. What was your path in getting to where you are in LBMC?
I was fortunate enough to receive a co-op position with IBM while in college.  I later became a senior IBM Sales Representative for one of the top ComputerLand franchises in the country.  I absolutely loved being able to meet with business owners and consult with them on how to use technology to improve their businesses. That is what led me to starting a technology consulting business, which I sold to LBMC Technology Solutions in 2005. The rest as they say is history. I’m honored to be a part of this team and am extremely proud that together we’ve grown LBMC Technology Solutions into a nationally recognized IT consulting firm.
  3. What advice would you give your younger self?
Probably the same advice I’m still giving myself today. Not to worry so much about being perfect. That hard work, high integrity, and being someone people can consistently rely on will result in a very blessed life, both professionally and personally.
  4. What would you say is the best part of your job?
I love helping people grow their businesses. The fact that I get to do that every day with so many wonderful clients is something I don’t take for granted. Being able to do this with an amazing and talented team is just icing on the cake!
  5. What would you tell CEO’s hoping to enhance diversity?
Make it a priority to promote diversity in the workplace at all levels. Have the conversation within your organization and with other CEO’s to actively promote the value of female talent at the leadership table. Give women leaders a voice by electing those qualified to serve on your board of directors.
  6. What would you tell young women thinking of entering the technology field today?
Opportunities abound for women in the technology industry. If you are looking for a career in the technology industry – get started today! Whether it’s getting the training you need or expanding your network, don’t put limitations on yourself or your career. Get a mentor in the industry that can help guild you and support you. Be confident and take risks. The future is yours for the taking.
