Peter Sanderson supports LBMC’s International ISO practice in the UK. He is a highly experienced certification, compliance, and security professional with more than 20 years of experience across quality management, environmental management, occupational health and safety, information security, personal and physical security, engineering, construction, defence and regulatory compliance.
Previously a Director of Acumen Concept Services UK and Certification Director of Certified Conformity LLC (USA), Peter worked with organizations worldwide to develop, implement, audit, and improve management systems, governance frameworks and security details. His expertise spans a broad range of internationally recognised standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ISO 50001, ISO 13485, AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO 17021, ISO 17025, and ISO 17065.
Throughout his career, Peter has successfully delivered numerous projects and third-party audits across diverse sectors including technology, aerospace, defence, manufacturing, construction, transportation, medical devices, energy, infrastructure, and professional services. He also supports organizations with cybersecurity, privacy, risk management, Microsoft SSPA compliance, certification body development, accreditation readiness, and governance improvement programmes.
Prior to establishing his advisory and certification businesses, Peter held senior engineering, project management, health and safety, and IT infrastructure and defence positions within major organisations, along with various level profile security details for major government projects, providing him with a practical understanding of operational challenges and business improvement. This unique combination of hands-on industry experience and technical expertise enables him to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused solutions that help organizations achieve compliance while driving operational excellence.
Peter is recognised for his ability to build trusted relationships with clients, navigate complex regulatory environments, and deliver effective certification and compliance outcomes across international markets.
Away from the office, Peter enjoys testing himself both physically and mentally. Having successfully completed six Ironman triathlons, he now concentrates his efforts on ultra-distance running and endurance challenges. He is also an enthusiastic golfer and a passionate supporter of his beloved “football” club, Sunderland AFC. When Peter is not competing on the ground, he is challenging himself in the air, after successfully earning his Private Pilots Licence back in 2021. Above all, Peter is a committed family man who values spending quality time with his family and maintaining a healthy balance between professional achievement and personal fulfilment.
